Everybody has something to offer and there are many different roles that adults can take within Girlguiding Middlesex East!

We are always looking for people to help keep Girlguiding alive, whether it is an occasional hour or a regular commitment – if you have any time or skill: tea making, unit book keeping, building, anything!… We CAN find a slot for you. The Girlguiding UK website has more details for volunteering with Girlguiding.

Unit Leaders

As a Leader you will contribute to fun, friendship and creating opportunities and challenges for the girls in your unit; encouraging them to take responsibility and each grow as an individual.

Being a Leader can involve planning and running meetings. There are lots of opportunities for you as a Leader to expand your skills including training and support, even overseas travel!

Every level of Guiding requires help. From Rainbows to Rangers we need adult help to run our meetings.

There are also other roles within the County, at Unit, District, Division or County level. Some are described below.

  • The Division Commissioner is responsible for managing the District within the Division and representing local Guiding as a part of the County team. She is responsible for the delivery, quality and well-being of Guiding in her Division, taking into account the needs and wishes of the Districts within her Division and the County as a whole.
  • A District Commissioner is responsible for the management, organisation and development of adults in a specific area.
  • The District Administrator provides any necessary administrative support for the District team.
  • The county team of Advisers, Coordinators and Trainers support our Adult Leaders to provide good guiding to all our members.
